It’s Summertime!!! This is the time of the year lots of us is waiting to enjoy the vacation, cold foods and drinks, and beaches however hot summer days can be bad for both human and animals. High temperature can cause heat exhaustion, dehydration, and worse heatstroke in you and your lovely pets especially dogs. Here are 7 Tips to Cool Your Dog This Summer to make him comfortable and to help you prevent the deadly heatstroke in dogs to happen.

1. Make sure your dog has access to fresh and cold water

Keep your dog water fresh and cool by replenishing it often. If it is too hot you can also add some ice to the water bowl to help him lower his temperature.

Don’t forget to always bring water every time you are walking your dog especially during summer days.

2. Don’t go for walk during the peak hours

Avoid walking your dog during peak hour, it is advisable to walk him before the sun shines or 1 to 2 hours after the sunset.

When walking your dog during summer make sure to check if the pavements are too hot for the paw (check here how to protect your dog’s paws from the hot pavement) so it won’t get burnt.

3. Play in the water

Playing in the water can lower your dog’s temperature. There are also the health benefits of swimming for dogs. If you don’t have time for swimming you can also try using a water mist fan to give extra moisture and lessen the temperature of the surroundings and your dog.

4. Never leave your dog in the car alone

Don’t and never ever leave your lovely pets inside the parked car because inside the car without turning on the AC the temperatures can quickly rise to dangerous, life-threatening levels, you and your pets can be suffocated that might cause death.

5. Stay your dog inside the house

Nothing will be more comfortable than staying inside your house during a hot summer day. Turning on the AC is also a plus factor to help keep you and your lovely dog stay cool and fresh.

6. Make frozen treats

Frozen Blueberries, Banana, or yogurt ice cream is a very healthy and delicious treats that is also great for hot summer day to help keep your lovely dogs cool.

7. Groom your dog

Always bathe your dog especially during summer to help him lower his temperature, cutting their fur will not only make him more cute but also help prevent heating up their body.
