Bassador Dog

The Bassador or Basset Lab, Basador, and sometimes even Bassetdor is a mixed breed dog cross between Basset Hound and the Labrador Retriever. This breed is very affectionate, they love attention and sometimes stubborn, it has a good quality of its purebred parent.

Bassador Appearance

Bassador dog got its appearance from both of its parents (Basset Hound and the Labrador Retriever), it has expressive eyes, short and sturdy legs, long and large ears, a long and thin muzzle, they weigh around 20.41 to 31.75 kg and their height is around 13 to 20 inches, they are exaggeratedly longer than it is tall, just like on the Basset Hound.

The Bassador’s coat is short and dense it protects them in cold or hot weather, it comes in a solid color like to its Labrador Retriever parent but sometimes has patches of white to the chest and feet. The variety of colors and patterns of their fur may come in yellow, black, brown. They tend to shed a lot so it is better to bathe and groom them as necessary and used the right shampoo and conditioner for their fur to make it soft, silky and smell good. It is best to keep their dental hygiene and nail care properly, periodontal disease is very common to dog whatever their size, brush their teeth several times a week to help remove tartar and bacteria and maintain the good condition of their teeth. Trim their nails once or twice a month to prevent injury in your dogs, long nails can also cause arthritis or other health concern in dogs. Short, neatly trimmed nails keep the feet in good condition and prevent our dog’s legs from getting scratched when they excitedly jump up to greet us.

Bassador Personality

Bassador

Bassador dog has a good personality of its parent, they are friendly, sociable, loyal and love to be with its owner a lot, however, they might be a little aloof around strangers and sometimes being stubborn. They have high prey drives and may chase after smaller pets, but with training and early socialization, it can make them good to other small animals in the house, they are also a good playmate to the children as long as we teach the children how to handle the dogs for the safety of the dogs and the children itself.

Bassador Health
