Black and Tan Coonhound is a sturdy dog with muscular legs that are long in proportion to the body length. Their eyes are very expressive that comes in hazel to brown color, their amazingly sensitive nose has great use in their hunting activities. Their ears are long, wide, and thin that is set low and far back on their head, and hang well down the neck. The tail is set slightly below the natural line of the back.
Black and tan hound coat are short, dense, and glossy. The black and tan markings are similar to the Doberman’s and Rottweiler’s. They have tan markings above the eyes, on the sides of the muzzle, and on the chest, legs, and back of the thighs.
Like other breeds of dogs, it is recommended to brush their fur occasionally.
