Can Dogs Eat Spicy Food?
Dog should not eat spicy food it is toxic and can cause stomach ache, diarrhea, and GI to them. Spicy food can also cause excessive thirst, causing your dog to vomit or worse bloat.
Unlike humans that have 9,000 different taste buds dogs only have about 1,700 taste buds. The research shows that dogs have only four taste receptors like the four major taste types as humans and it is salty, bitter, sour, and sweet.
So when a dog ate something spicy it may not react to the heat the same way a human would but the effect of eating spicy food on the dog may cause discomforts or worse affect their health.
Note: Not all human food is safe and healthy for dogs so it is advisable to ask your veterinarian to know what food is good and bad for your lovely pet especially if it is his/her first time to eat that food.
