Dog Nutritional Needs

Loving and caring for our fur babies is enough to make them live a happy life. But if we want to be with them for a long time we must consider what can make them healthy, the foods that we feed to them is important to have nutrients that they need to have a healthy and long life. The Dog Nutritional Needs will depend on their age, health condition, and lifestyle.

Below is the list of some important nutrients that your dogs need in their foods.

Protein

Protein is important for muscles build-up and repair, it is essentials for the growing puppies and pregnant because there are energetic and they use their muscles a lot.

Eggs and high-quality meats and chicken are rich in protein, most of the dog foods in the market contain protein and the levels depend on the age of your dogs.

Vitamins

Vitamin is an organic compound that helps in boosting the immune system. It plays a variety of critical roles, including regulating calcium and phosphorus levels, enabling the blood to clot, and maintaining nervous system function.

You can feed carrots to your dog because it’s rich in vitamin A, you can also give Vitamin C as a supplement to boost their immune system and helps reduce inflammation.

Carbohydrate

The common type of carbohydrate is fiber it is the indigestible part of plant foods that travels through our digestive system, absorbing water along the way and easing bowel movements. Choosing the fiber sources must be considered carefully for our dogs because dairy foods that are rich in fiber are NOT good for them.

Fats

Fats help our dogs to absorb all the vitamins and nutrients in their food that their body needs. But not all fats are healthy, some important fatty acids for your dog are:

Water

Water is very important to dogs too! Water makes up more than half of an adult dog’s body weight. There is some food that you can give to your dog that has water however it’s not enough, fresh clean water must always be accessible to your dog to keep them hydrated all day.
