English Setter Dog
The English Setter is a breed of dog belongs to the setter group, which includes the Irish Setters, Irish Red and White Setters, and Gordon Setters. They are a type of hunting dogs developed to assist hunters in finding and retrieving game, usually birds. Today they are still used as a hunting dog but because of their gentle and very affectionate personality, they become one of the best choices as a pet companion in the house.
English Setter Appearance
English Setter has an elegant and steady body built, its head should be slightly domed with a muzzle of good depth and show chiseling under the eyes, which should be dark in color with a kind, gentle expression. The ears top are positioned in line with the eyes and lie in an elegant fold. It has a long muscular neck, well-angled shoulders, and a brisket of good depth. The body is of a moderate length proportionate to its height and it has strong powerful hindquarters. It carries its tail in line with its back and the tail should be long enough to reach the hock.
One of the English Setter charms is its coat, it is a medium length that lies flat without any curl or woolliness. It’s embellished with feathering, on the ears, chest, belly, underside of the thighs, backs of the legs, and on the tail. The common color of its coat is blue Belton, orange or lemon Belton, blue Belton and tan, and liver Belton, puppies are usually born white, although some may have patches of orange, black, or liver. Like other breeds of dog, it is advisable to bathe and groom them as necessary, used the right shampoo and conditioner for their fur to make it soft, silky, and smell good.
