About Fila Brasileiro
The Fila Brasileiro also known as fila dog is a large herding breed of dog developed in Brazil. Because of its size, it can be intimidating but with its aggressiveness and an unforgiving, careless personality they are known as a “faithful dog”, they trap their prey and wait for the hunter to arrive. Fila dog also best as a pet companion in the house for an experienced pet owner, they are not advisable to live in an apartment where it has limited space, this breed needs enough exercise and a large place to run around.

The Fila dog has large bones and loose skin They have a rectangular build and though they are massive, their natural agility is apparent. The head is big and heavy with a deep muzzle. The ears are large, thick, tapered, and either droop or fold back exposing the interior, depending on the dog’s mood. The neck and back are well-muscled and the chest is broad and deep. Unlike the vast majority of canines, the croup is higher than the withers. The legs are heavily boned. The skin is very distinctive of the breed, as it is thick and loose all over the body, mainly in the region around the neck.
Fila Brasileiro has a smooth and short coat, it can be brindle, fawn, or black according to FCI standards, it might also have a black mask, White marks aren’t up to breed standard, but they won’t make your Fila any less tenacious or loyal.
