Pet Summer Grooming Tips

Summer is here and as a fur parent, you must be worried about your lovely pets if he or she can handle the heat well. When the hot summer days arrive, you must want to find a way how to cool your dogs and help them stay fresh. Here at Ohmylovely pets, we list down some Pet Summer Grooming Tips that you can do to help your dog stay cool and fresh during summer.

Below are some summer grooming tips to help keep your pet cool and fresh all season long!

1. Brush Your Dogs Fur Regularly

Regular brushing your lovely dog’s fur promotes healthy shedding. Brushing helps to remove loose fur and aid in healthy shedding. Healthy shedding is a part of your lovely dog’s natural cooling process.

A well-brushed coat also allows air to circulate better into the fur that will help to cool your dog’s temperature.

2. Bath Your Dog Regularly

During summer or any hot days, it is advisable to bathe your lovely dogs more often to cooldown his or her temperature. However, make sure to not overdo it so the natural oil of the fur of your dog that helps in making the fur healthy will not wash out.

We recommend to used organic dog shampoo and conditioner for more better and healthy coats.

3. Properly Groom Your Dog

When summer or hot weather arrives it is advisable to shorter your dog’s coat to make it more cool and refreshing for him or her. However, the proper length must be observed in cutting your dog’s fur because cutting down the length of your dog’s coat too much can actually cause certain dogs to get sunburned (especially if they have a pink skin tone).

4. Regular Bathing and Grooming can Prevent Fleas and Thick

When you brush and bathe your lovely pets especially dogs on a regular basis you are preventing them to have fleas and thick. While bathing and grooming your lovely dogs you have a better chance of spotting any signs of this irritating insect and you have time to take appropriate treatment to prevent it to worsen.
