Hoping to understand your lovely dog’s “Woof woof” or “awoo”? It is now possible, a South Korean startup (a newly established business) has developed an AI-powered smart dog collar that can translate your dog’s bark for you to understand.

Petpuls collar is an AI-powered dog collar that analyzes the tone and pitch of your dog’s bark to track its mood. It can detect five emotions (happy, relaxed, nervous, angry, or sad) in canines by monitoring their barks using voice recognition technology.

Launched in October 2020, the device identifies if your dog is happy, relaxed, nervous, angry, or sad on a mobile app synced to the collar via WiFi.

“This device gives a dog a voice so that humans can understand,” Andrew Gil, Petpuls Lab’s director of global marketing, told Reuters.

Back in 2017, the company starts gathering different types of barks to analyze dog’s emotions. Three years later with more than 10,000 samples from 50 breeds of dogs, they developed a proprietary algorithm that can now analyze a dog’s emotions.

Based on Seoul National University study the Petpuls collar has a 90 percent average accuracy rate of emotional recognition.

The collar is sold on the Petpuls.net website for $99 & $108. It has 2 sizes to fit small and large breeds of dogs and has over five different strap colors to choose from.

You can track your dog’s emotional status and physical activity through Petpuls Smartphone App available on iOS and Android smartphone, the only thing you need is to connect the collar to the Wi-Fi and pair it to the app.

The global pet care market was worth $138 billion in 2020, up 34 percent, Euromonitor data showed, as more people spent time at home with their pets or adopted pets during the COVID-19 pandemic. The global dog population also grew 18% the same year to 489 million.

With this new technology fur, parents can now understand how their dogs feel and increase their bonding.

Here at ohmylovelypets we hope that with the help of this AI-Powered Smart Dog Collar the percentage of abandoned dogs because fur parent can’t understand their pet will be lessened. This collar is proof or evidence that a dog has a feeling that you should take care of as their fur parent.
